    Above 35°C ambient, plain concrete can lose placeable slump in under 30 minutes. The standard response is a retarding superplasticiser: the retarder component slows cement hydration to extend working time by 1–3 hours, while the plasticiser recovers workability at a lower water-cement ratio — protecting both placement and strength. Dosing typically runs 0.6–1.2% by cement weight, trialled per mix design. For night pours and mass concrete, ice or chilled-water batching supplements the admixture. We supply retarding and high-range water-reducing admixtures with mix-design trial support.
