Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) is a critical chemical in Oman's offshore and deepwater gas production — injected as a thermodynamic hydrate inhibitor (THI) in gas export pipelines, subsea production systems, and gas gathering systems to prevent gas hydrate formation. MEG is also the antifreeze in Oman's large HVAC chilled water systems in commercial buildings, hotels, and district cooling networks.
