Diethylene Glycol (DEG) has significant demand in Oman's oil & gas sector — as a gas dehydration solvent in natural gas processing plants operated by OQ, PDO, and Oman LNG. In gas dehydration units (glycol contactors), DEG and TEG (triethylene glycol) absorb water vapour from natural gas streams to meet pipeline water dew point specifications. In Oman's large gas processing infrastructure at Saih Nihayda (PDO), Qalhat LNG terminal, and OQ's gas processing at Sohar, glycol dehydration is a core process. DEG also serves as a solvent for resins and dyes, a humectant in print inks, and a plasticiser precursor. Global Chemicals LLC supplies DEG technical grade in drums and IBC containers.
