Sulphamic acid (H₃NSO₃, amidosulfonic acid) is Oman's preferred industrial descaling chemical — offering the effectiveness of mineral acids with significantly improved safety, lower corrosivity to metals, and manageable solid form that can be shipped and stored without the hazards of liquid hydrochloric or sulphuric acid. As a solid, sulphamic acid can be handled and stored at ambient temperature with standard PPE — far safer than fuming HCl or concentrated H₂SO₄.
